Created exclusively by the Nahant Historical Society. This is the first of a series of commemorative ornaments. A different building or Nahant Scene will be offered each year.

The Valley Road School was built in 1904-1905 at a time when the town's population was rapidly growing. The Neo-Classical style school was built by the Boston architectural firm of Little and Brown. It held all grades until 1914 when residents voted to send high school students to Lynn. The school remained in operation until the 1980's and is now home to the Nahant Historical Society.
